Hike | Blitz Bovec maraton

The hike begins and ends in the center of Bovec. There are two distances to choose from: EMERALD TRAIL, 10 km long (approx. 3 hours of walking) and ON THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE ISONZO FRONT, 20 km long (approx. 5 hours of walking). The trail will lead us through stunning nature with views of peaks (Kanin, Rombon, Svinjak, Javoršček, Polovnik...), through picturesque villages and hidden corners of Bovec, we will admire the clear Soča River, and have one of the most beautiful views of the Bovec Basin. Both trails have a strong historical touch of World War I. The trails are paved with walking paths (sandy and grassy), only a small part is on asphalt. Along the way, we will see and try the "Kilc" brandy and homemade apple juice, have a warm meal, and have a tasting of Bovec sheep cheese.

The hike will be guided. It will be appropriate for those of you who want to get through the journey faster, as well as for everyone else who wants to take more time to see the sights.

For a long time, long distance running was not considered appropriate for women. We were even banned from participating in marathons. In Bovec, however, they have accepted us without reservation.
That is why I am grateful to return there to confirm that they were right that they also want to run me a long way, if it is along the turquoise-blue Soča, then I prefer it.

As a marathon runner, I always like to return to Bovec. I ran in Bovec when this running event was organized together with Radenci and Kranj as part of the Three hearts marathons. This is one of the most beautiful and picturesque half marathons I have ever run. I warmly recommend it to all lovers of running in pure nature.

The Bovec Marathon has already firmly established itself on the Slovenian running calendar. In any case, it is a unique event that offers the opportunity for runners of all profiles to participate. In addition, the date of the run is very favorable because the form of the runners during that period is supposed to be very good. I will definitely take part in the run this year and I am looking forward to running and socializing.
