The third weekend in September is in Bovec traditionally reserved for runners. This year's central running event, the Blitz Bovec Marathon, will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

Carefully selected courses through unspoilt nature with a view of the peaks, running along the Soča River, positive energy, exceptional volunteers, a warm meal, a rich accompanying program, the hospitality of the locals who have taken the event as their own, are just a few reasons not to delay in registering. The advantage and specialty of the Blitz Bovec marathon is that it is not another city run in the crowd, but an individual coexistence with nature. In addition to the classic marathon, there will also be 21+ challenges and the shortest 7.6 km Fun run. The Friday session is intended for the arrival of participants and lectures on the topic of sports. Saturday's program starts at 9:00 a.m. with the start of the shortest test, 9:15 a.m. the start of the marathon and 21+. At 3:30 p.m., the first run for elementary school students starts. After the running program, there is a party.
